The Islamic Golden Age is usually attributed to two father & son caliphs from the Abbäsid dynasty in the 8th century – the Caliph Harun al-Rashid and his illegitimate son, the Caliph al-Ma’mun. They built the House Of Wisdom, which was the home of the Translation Movement.
